Temp Agency Payroll Software Buyer's Guide

Vermittra · Updated 2026

Swiss temp payroll is not ordinary payroll. If your software doesn't understand the staffing CBA, you'll get the numbers wrong. Here's what actually matters when you evaluate a platform.

1. Swiss social-insurance coverage, done right

The tool must compute AHV/IV/EO, ALV, BVG pension, accident insurance (UVG) and withholding tax with the correct 2026 contribution rates and the correct caps (e.g. the ALV ceiling).

2. GAV / CBA rate cards

The mandatory staffing collective agreement sets minimum wages per function plus night, Sunday, weekend and holiday premiums. Your payroll software should store these as rate cards and warn you when a placement rate is below the minimum.

3. Holiday pay & 13th salary

Temps accrue holiday pay and a 13th salary on every hour worked. Good software tracks these accruals per shift so the payout is automatic, not a year-end surprise.

4. Timesheet to payslip flow

The fewer re-entries, the fewer errors. Look for client-approved timesheets that flow straight into the payroll run — approved hours, overtime and allowances all carry over.

5. Compliance & audit trail

You need per-employee records, permit/expiry alerts and a clear audit trail for each payroll run — Swiss employers must be able to prove compliance.

6. Predictable pricing

Avoid per-run or per-payslip surprises. Per-user pricing (e.g. CHF 99 per user/month) keeps your cost predictable as you add recruiters.
