How to Choose Staffing Agency Software
Legacy suites sell you everything and deliver pain. Here's a short framework to judge any staffing platform — and where most vendors fall short.
1. Does it cover the whole workflow, or just the shiny bits?
A good platform covers clients, candidates, job orders, placements, timesheets, invoicing, dunning and reporting. If you need four tools and endless exports to run a week, that's overhead you pay for every single placement.
2. Swiss compliance, not an afterthought
Ask about GAV/CBA rate cards, Swiss payroll deductions (AHV, ALV, BVG, withholding tax), permit-expiry alerts and 13th salary/holiday pay. If the vendor can't answer, walk.
3. Data migration — can you actually switch?
The best platform is useless if you can't bring your history over. A serious vendor offers bulk import for clients, candidates and placements, so switching isn't a weekend of re-typing.
4. Does it use AI where it helps?
AI is great for parsing CVs and shortlisting candidates — not for doing your payroll. Look for AI that saves recruiters hours without becoming a black box.
5. Pricing that scales with you
Predictable per-user pricing beats opaque per-feature or per-payslip charges. Know what you'll pay at 5 users and at 50.
6. Swiss data residency
For candidate data, hosting in Switzerland matters. Confirm where the data lives and how GDPR / FADP is handled.
